CCC AL mayoral candidate vows to formulate policy for hawkers

Awami League mayoral candidate for Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) polls Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said, “If elected as CCC mayor, I will take initiative to launch special projects for the welfare of small businessmen. 

The city corporation will formulate a clear policy for all those who make a living by doing business on the sidewalk. So that hawkers can run the business and the movement of the public is not disrupted.”

He was speaking as the chief guest at a views-exchange meeting organized by the Chittagong Footpath Hawkers Association on Sunday in support of Rezaul Karim Chowdhury.

At the meeting, the hawkers leaders said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has honored our expectations by putting her trust in a person who can give up family pomp and circumstance for the sake of patriotism and forget the illusion of life and fight against the armed aggressors. 

“We believe that Rezaul Karim has the welfare of people of all walks of life. So, we are on the field for the victory of the boat,” they said. 

Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said, “Vote for me on January 27 to build a modern and dynamic city. I am a workaholic, I want to work.  

This work crazy people want to build this city with city dwellers. So that traders can conduct safe, traffic free business.”

City Awami League Forest Environment Secretary Mashiur Rahman, North District Awami League Vice-President Abul Kalam Azad, North District Awami League leader and former chairman of Fatikchhari Upazila ATM Peyarul Islam, Motaleb Chowdhury, Prabir Das Tapu, Shawkat Hossain, Nurul Akbar addressed the meeting, among others. 

Nurul Karim, councilor candidate Abdus Salam Masum, Women Councilor candidate Nilu Nag, Shawkat Hossain Munna, Nasir Uddin, Rafiqul Mannan Jewel, Sajeeb Talukder, Nurul Alam Ledu, Kamal Hossain, Khandaker Md. Delwar, Alamgir and Zahir Uddin were also present there. After the views-exchange, the mayoral and councilor candidates held a mass rally at Zahur Hawker Market area.
