Administrator of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Khorshed Alam Sujan has directed to remove all illegal establishments, shops and piles of goods from Sagarika Junction to Naya Bazar and other parts in the port city.
He gave these instructions while inspecting the port connecting road development work from Sagarika Junction to Nayabazar on Tuesday morning.
Sujan said, "Before I became the CCC administrator, I was annoyed by the situation on this road." So after taking charge, I have promised to complete the work of port connecting road as soon as possible. This road is very important in the whole city. But this work has not been completed so far due to invisible reasons.
“I’ll be on this street day and night, I want to see where the barriers are here,” he said. Where there are obstacles? There is fighting. I have come to this stage by doing student politics. The road is my politics. I will stay on the road and come up with a solution.
Sujan said, "Today I became one of you, you remove these on your own responsibility." Otherwise you will see me tomorrow in the role of administrator. If these illegal installations are not removed, the mobile court will have to conduct operations and fine. At that time, the traders promised to remove the administrator at their own risk.
Hundreds of locals gathered at the time and applauded the steps taken by the administrator Sujan. The administrator and the contractor promised the locals that the road would be made passable by making visible improvements within the next week.
Contractor Manjurul Islam said road development had been hampered by the Corona epidemic and monsoon rains. Due to which the misery of the road users including the locals has reached an extreme level. Now the work will be done in the way the new administrator is giving directions.
