Local residents at Nikarhata Railgate of Muladuli Union in Ishwardi, Pabna hold human chain to protest against filing of cases based on fabricated, baseless and motivated by false facts.

Nur Jamal Molla read a written statement on behalf of the local people at the procession held on Friday. In his written statement, he said that there was no incident of attack, shop vandalism, money looting on anyone named Liton Ali in Nikarhata village on September 30. However, a case was filed in Ishwardi police station in the name of eight people by fabricating baseless and false facts. The plaintiff in this case is Liton Ali's wife Sadia Yasmin.

Nur Jamal Molla said, Shrabni Khatun (15), the minor daughter of Komed Ali Molla of Nikarhata village, was forcibly abducted on August 25. A case was filed in Ishwardi police station in this incident. Eight people were accused in this case. Among them, the main accused Siddique Sardar was arrested by the police. After the filing of the case and the arrest of Siddique, the accused party became enraged and severely injured the plaintiff Komed Ali Mollah, witness Jewel and Shahidul. At that time, Shukur Ali Molla was beaten and injured when he came forward to rescue the injured.

He said, reconciliation initiatives were taken with the help of local dignitaries. Both parties appeared in court and the arrested Siddique Sardar was granted bail. In this way, when the process of settling the matter is going on, Liton Ali’s wife Sadia Yasmin filed a fabricated, baseless case in the name of eight people of the Molla family of Nikarhata village.

He complained that the Ishwardi police station registered this case on the instructions of a senior police officer without investigation. Noor Jamal Mollah demanded the withdrawal of this false, fabricated and baseless case through proper investigation.

Ismail Hossain, president of Nikrhata Bazar Samiti present at the human chain, said that the allegation of attack and looting is ridiculous. On that day, there was no incident of attack, vandalism, looting of money at this Nikarhata junction.

When contacted, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwardi Police Station Arvind Sarkar said, “This is a counter case. After the case was registered, a preliminary investigation was conducted. The case will be investigated further. If no such incident takes place, then the names of the accused will be omitted from the final report.”
