Case filed over robbery in Savar

A case has been filed over 17 jewelry shops robbery incident that happened on early Monday, with Ashulia police station in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital on Monday night.

Monoronjon Rajbangshi, owner of 'Shuvo Jewelry', and General Secretary of Nayarhat Bazar Gold Trader's Samity, filed the case around 9:00 pm on Monday night making 30 to 40 anonymous defendants in the case statement, and mentioned that the robber' gang attacked at the gold market passing Bangshi river by two separate boat, one of which was speed boat, and looted a total of 126 Bhori Gold ornaments, 912 Bhori Silver ornaments and cash Taka 17 lakhs and 60 thousands, hosting shop employees and night guard at gunpoint and tied them up. Monoronjon told this reporter that he filed the case and expects identify and immediate arrest those involved.  

When contacted, Abdullahel Kafee, Additional Superintendent (Crime) of Dhaka Zila police said, Police working to identify and arrest the involved, and hoping that the involved will be arrested soon.

Responding to the question of providing assistance, Mazharul Islam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer of Savar told The Bangladesh Post, "We asked them to make a list, though we yet to get it, however, we will send the list to DC, and then he will decide on this issue".
