Captivating celebration of Pahela Baishakh at JnU

Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bangla New year, was celebrated at Jagannath University (JnU) in a befitting manner on Friday. Like every year, the university has welcomed Bengali new year. Marking the day, a series of program including Mangal Sobhajatra, cultural program, and publication exhibition were held with joy. 

Following the motto " peace and harmony" the university held the Mangal Sobhajatra at 9:30 am led by the university Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Imdadul Haque on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh. Besides presenting a portrait of white pigeon as a symbol of peace, portrait of owl, flowers, honey bees and leaf were presented. 

In order to make the celebration more cheerful and overflow with joy, everyone including teachers, students, officiants participate actively in the cultural program, held at the central auditorium after the successful welfare procession.

After the cultural program, Prof. Dr. Md. Imdadul Haque, the university VC said in his statement that we have to be awake always to stop any kind of communal evil power. There may be dissimilarities in opinion but we have to move forward in a non-communal sense, he said in addition to. 

Later on the day, a publication exhibition was held on the ground floor of Rafiq Bhaban where the university published books, Journals, magazines, messages from the university, teacher's published books were exhibited.

The beautiful participation of every department, Institute and officiants reflected the motto- peace and harmony.
