Brie Larson has been training even harder for ‘The Marvels’, and she said that means ‘Captain Marvel’ will be even more powerful in the sequel.

While the actor started out as an indie darling, she's thrown herself into the superhero world. Larson has shared videos of her Captain Marvel training, teasing fans with what they can expect when the follow-up to Captain Marvel hits theaters next year. And while the first film allowed the character to display plenty of power, the actor said The Marvels will take things to another level.

"In the first film, she's developing that strength, and so I was developing my own personal strength with this one," Larson told Insider. "She's already got more mastery over her powers. She can fly now. And so having my body more limber, more ready for these types of movements, like wirework, which I didn't have to do as much on the first one, was the main goal."

As Larson mentions, the first film only featured so much flying, as Carol Danvers was still figuring out the extent of her powers. But by the end of the film, it's clear she can rival most of the MCU. That was confirmed in ‘Avengers: Endgame; when she single-handedly took down Thanos' ship before going toe-to-toe with the Mad Titan, who just barely held her off thanks to the Infinity Stones. While the exact timeline of the new film hasn't been confirmed, it's a safe bet that Carol will be even stronger. And Larson will be too.

Larson went on to discuss how she set a goal of doing one-arm pull-ups, and within a few months, she'd mastered it. She then tackled one-arm push-ups, soon adding that skill to her arsenal.

"I just started to get kind of obsessed with it," Larson said. "When people say like, 'Oh, girls can't do that,' it just makes me wanna do it even more. So there were huge accomplishments this time and I just feel like my body's just getting more and more used to this and more and more excited. Now, it feels weird to not train. I look forward to it."

Directed by Nia DaCosta from a script by Megan McDonnell, The Marvels is slated for release on Feb. 17, 2023.
