Capacity building training held for Bogura cops

Bogura Police have arranged a workshop to prevent child and women violence in the town on Wednesday. Assisted by UNFPA, the workshop was held to smoothen the process of child and women friendly help desk operating.

Bogura Police Superintendent Syed Ashraf Ali Bhuiyan spoke as the chief guest at the workshop which was presided by ASP Helena Akhter. The workshop took place at Bogura Police Lines School and College auditorium on Wednesday noon.

SP Syed Ashraf Ali Bhuiyan informed that 12 police stations in the district are operational with the child and women friendly help desk service. Each police station has a dedicated female police officer assigned to that post. 

Bogura district has proven to be a model example in this sector. Currently aiuthorities are working to reduce the response time and empathize the victims with proper guideline. UN FP district Office Tamima Nasrin then spoke about gender issues regarding various cases.   

Several Officers in charge, SI and ASI along with other police officers joined the workshop to receive the training.
