Bangladesh Jatiya Samaj Kalyan Parishad in cooperation with General Voluntary Organisation and the Department of Social Welfare distributed cheques worth Taka 50,000 each to 14-Cancer Patients in Thakurgaon for 2018-'19 fiscal year.
The function of distribution of cheque was organised at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner of Thakurgaon where Sree Ramseh Chandra Sen, Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League and MP of Thakurgaon-1 constituency, distributed the cheques as the chief guest.
Among others, the function was attended by Dr. AKM Kamruzzaman Selim, Deputy Commissioner, Thakurgaon, Nur Kutubul Alam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) , Dr. Anowarul Islam, Civil Surgeon, Thakurgaon and Monsur Ali, President of Thakurgaon Press Club.
At the function, cheques of Taka 700,000 was distributed among 14-Cancer patients, Taka 671,000 was distributed among 61 general voluntary organisations, Taka 10,50,000 was donated to Adhunik Sadar Hospital and the Rogi Kalyan Samity (Patients' Welfare Association) and Taka 190,000 was donated to Government Employee Co-ordination Parishad, Taka 145,000 was donated to Criminal Correction and Rehabilitation Association totalling the cheques worth Taka 27,64,000.
