Cancer patient Motaleb seeks financial help

Published : 09 Jul 2025 08:30 PM

Motaleb Ali, a 63-year-old day labourer from Korapara village in Jhenaidah, is battling rectal cancer and desperately needs financial support for treatment.

Once the sole breadwinner for his seven-member family, Motaleb has been bedridden for the past few years after developing severe bleeding from his rectum.

Despite consulting several doctors in Jhenaidah, Jashore, and Khulna, his condition remained undiagnosed until he met Dr. Tariq Akter Khan, Associate Professor of Colorectal Surgery at Mugda Medical College, Dhaka. Dr. Khan identified the illness as rectal cancer and recommended a series of costly tests to confirm the diagnosis and begin treatment.

Unfortunately, Motaleb has exhausted all his savings and possessions. His college-going son Bappi has taken over as the family’s sole earner, working as a day labourer, but his income is barely enough to survive, let alone fund the required medical procedures.

Motaleb’s youngest daughter, Jolly Khatun, appeals to kind-hearted individuals and charitable organizations for help. Contributions can be sent via bKash to 01941992001 (Bappi). Your support could offer a lifeline to a father who once worked tirelessly to support his family and now simply wants a chance to survive.
