Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 were designed with the vision of leaving no one behind and ensuring equality for all. These global goals aim to uplift marginalised and poor communities so they can become assets, not burdens, to society—benefiting both individuals and the country.

These remarks were made by Divisional Commissioner Md. Mokhter Ahmed while presiding over the 18th meeting of the Divisional Committee on SDG Implementation and Coordination, held on Tuesday at the Divisional Department of Social Services in Mymensingh.

The meeting was conducted by Director Mohammad Golam Mostafa and attended by Additional Divisional Commissioner Tahmina Akhter and heads of all government departments in the division.

The meeting began with department heads presenting the progress and activities of their respective offices, highlighting how they align with the 17 goals and 269 targets outlined in the SDGs. This was followed by an open discussion on how to achieve these targets by 2030.

The Divisional Commissioner emphasised that achieving the SDGs is a top priority. He urged every department to give their maximum effort and work from their respective positions. “We want to see a poverty- and inequality-free Bangladesh by 2030,” he added, underlining the importance of collaboration and commitment from all sectors.
