Chairman of Bangladesh National Awami Party (Bangladesh NAP) Jebel Rahman Ghaani has said there is no alternative to national unity and solidarity in overcoming the country’s ongoing crisis.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a virtual discussion on Monday (July 26), organised on the occasion of the 64th founding anniversary of the party.

The NAP chairman said that all of us should be united irrespective of religion, caste and creed aiming to protect the integrity of the state, the fundamental rights of the people, the country’s economic prosperity and good governance. It must be kept in mind that no nation can survive without national unity, he added.

He also said national unity is also a safeguard for the development of the nation and elimination of inequality. This unity is not a mere election or vote-centric alliance. Those who love the country, love democracy, even if there are differences of opinion, they have to establish unity among themselves to protect the country and democracy. Bangladesh NAP will continue work to establish national unity in the interest of the nation and the people, he added.

In his presidential speech, the party’s secretary general M Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan said that Bangladesh is now passing through a critical moment. “We have to forge the national unity to rescue the country,” he added.

Chairman of NDP Khandaker Golam Mortuza, its Secretary General Md Manjur Hossain Isa, Bangladesh NAP’s presidium members Barrister Mashiur Rahman Ghaani and Monir Enayet Mallik and others also spoke in the discussion.
