The Cabinet Division has issued seven precautionary directives aimed at safeguarding government officials from falling victim to fraudulent schemes, including potential threats posed by vested groups and foreign intelligence agencies.

In a recent letter addressed to the senior secretaries and secretaries of all ministries and divisions, the Cabinet Division emphasised the need for heightened vigilance and preventive measures across government offices.

The directives are:

1. Increased Vigilance: Government officials are advised to remain cautious and take extra precautions against fraudulent traps.

2. Legal Measures: Strict legal action may be pursued against individuals involved in such criminal activities.

3. Intelligence Coordination: If any such activities are suspected, law enforcement or intelligence agencies should be notified immediately to identify and neutralize syndicates.

4. Social Media Caution: Officials should avoid sharing their position, location, or daily activities on social media platforms.

5. Avoiding Online Scams: Awareness should be raised to prevent falling prey to seductive video calls, images, or online chats.

6. Maintain Professional Boundaries: Officials are advised not to get too close to strangers or people they barely know.

7. Information Security: Confidential information, images, or videos should not be shared during online communications.

The letter urged all senior officials to communicate these directives to staff across all ministries, divisions, and subordinate offices to strengthen awareness and enhance protective measures against fraudulent activities.
