The activists of consumers association of Bangladesh (CAB) Jhenaidah unit formed a human chain in the town protesting abnormal price of hike of essential commodities and ensure issue more family food supply cards among the needy people at no delay. The human chain was formed at Jhenaidah Post office intersection on Wednesday morning.
Hundreds of CAM activists including people from all walks of life with banner and festoons participated in the human chain. CAB Jhenaidah district unit president Principal Aminur Rahman, vice president Mir Nasir Uddin among others spoke in the human chain.
The speakers said people of low and middle income people became helpless when the authorities failed to control the increasing trend of essential commodities in past weeks. The life of the innocent people became miserable when the prices marching towards the sky day by day. They had demanded to control the market and ensure punishments to the traders liable for hoarding and increasing of prices. They had also increase the number of beneficiaries under the family food supply activities at no delay to save the poor from hunger.
