Butterfly fair at JU tomorrow

The Butterfly Fair-2021 will be held on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus on December 10 (Friday). The universities Zoology department will organise the fair at the Zahir Raihan Auditorium premises to raise awareness among the masses to conserve butterfly in the environment. Convenor of the fair Prof Md. Monwar Hossain made the disclosure of the event through a press conference at the cafeteria of the university. 

This year, Butterfly Award-2021 will be given to Md. Hasmot Ali, a preservationist from Sirajganj, for his contribution on conserving butterflies and Butterfly Young Enthusiast-2021 award will be given to Ashikur Rahman Sami of Zoology department. 

JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam will inaugurate the fair as the chief guest. The daylong fair will be featured with drawing competition for children, photography exhibition, butterfly exhibition, butterfly identification competition, debate competition and documentary exhibition on Butterfly and its Habitat.

Mentionable, the Zoology department of  JU in association with Cute Ltd, Prokriti O Jibon Foundation and Channel I has been organizing the fair since 2010.
