Bangladesh Textile University (BUTEX) has officially declared the date for the admission test to the four-year B.Sc. in Textile Engineering course for the academic year 2023-24. The entry test is scheduled to take place on May 8.
In a circular signed by the university's registrar, Kabari Majumdar, it was revealed that the admission test will be held to fill 600 seats across 10 departments under 5 faculties at BUTEX. Each department has specific seat allocations, with 80 seats for Yarn Engineering, Fabric Engineering, Wet Process Engineering, Apparel Engineering, and Textile Engineering Management Departments. Meanwhile, Textile Fashion and Design, Industrial and Production Engineering, Textile Machinery Design and Maintenance, Dyes and Chemicals Engineering, and Environmental Science and Engineering departments will offer 40 seats each. The admission process will commence at 8 am on May 8, with confirmation of attendance required from the candidates. Admission will be granted according to merit order, with the first 600 candidates being admitted between 9:00 am and 10:30 am. Subsequently, candidates on the waiting list (ranked from 601 to 1350) and those applying under the Freedom Fighter quota will be considered for admission, subject to seat availability, between 10:30 am and 1:00 pm. Further admissions for candidates on the waiting list (ranked from 1351 to 2000) and the Freedom Fighter quota will take place from 2 pm onwards, contingent upon seat availability. Prospective students are advised to adhere to the specified timings and procedures outlined by BUTEX for a smooth admission process
