Business opportunities created with 67 countries

The World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT), the Olympic International Conference on Information and Communication Technology, was held for the first time in the country on November 11-14 under the theme 'ICT the Great Equalizer' with the participation of over 100 technologists from more than 75 countries.

In this conference, B2B session of Bangladesh with 67 countries of the world has been held. As a result, business opportunities were created in those countries. At the conference, World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA) and Associates awarded individuals and organisations in various categories. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was awarded the ‘Eminent Person Award’. Former South African President Nelson Mandela received the same award for the first time in 2010. Vint Cerf, one of the fathers of Internet, also received this award earlier.

Meanwhile, Sajeeb Wazed, ICT Adviser to the Prime Minister, has been awarded the ‘Association Leadership Award-2021’. Apart from this, the company has also rewarded government and non-government organisations of different countries for their success in information technology in different categories.This year, Computer Services Limited from Bangladesh, Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), Development of National ICT Info Network for Bangladesh Government (Info-Sarkar), Library and National Health Window have won association awards in various categories.

This year's event was held in a hybrid (physical and online) model keeping in mind the corona infection. The four-day event was attended by IT experts, ministers from different countries, entrepreneurs, government and non-government representatives and visitors. The Asia-Oceania International Conference Association 'Digital Summit 2021' was held in the same period parallel to the WCIT 2021 conference.
