Talking over cellphone during driving of vehicles is a common feature for most of the drivers moving on Khulana - Kushtia route.

This practice has been causing accidents on the roads and highways frequently. But the drivers of the vehicles, especially buses were not refrained from doing the unethical doings after repeated warnings, said the officials of Bangladesh Road Transport Authorities (BRTA) in Jhenaidah Zone.

Some of the passengers travelling on a Kushtia-bound bus number Dhaka Metro Ba- 13- 0023 under the banner of Rupsha Paribahan started its journey from Jhenaidah stand at about 1.30 pm on Tuesday. Yunus Ali Mia, driver of the bus immediately after the start, had talked for three timers over his cellular phone ignoring the request of the passengers in 10 minutes of the journey.

He did not care the passengers and was driving his bus carelessly.

When contacted Assistant Director of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), Jhenaidah Zonal office Atiar Rahman said, talking over cellphone or other accessories during driving of any transport like bus, truck, microbus and minibus are strictly prohibited as per the rules of the transport vehicular movement.

The people violating the rules of the government might be punished, BRTA assistant director Atiar Rahman said.
