Police have arrested bus driver Nahidul Islam after 13 policemen were injured when a bus collided with an industrial police vehicle at Sagarika intersection of Pahartali police station.
He was arrested from Pahartali market area on Saturday night.
Confirming the matter, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chittagong's Pahartali Police Station Mostafizur Rahman said a bus plying on Road No. 11 at Sagarika intersection on Saturday hit the industrial police pickup. Thirteen policemen were injured. The bus was apprehended from the spot but the driver escaped. Later in the night, driver Nahidul Islam was arrested in a raid on Pahartali market.
He said that after the incident, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Industrial Police Nazmul Hossain Mollah filed a case with Pahartali Police Station. He was arrested in that case.
