Bus-auto-rickshaw collision kills 5

A collision between a passenger bus and an auto-rickshaw took place in the Makishbathan area of Latifpur in Kaliakore upazila of Gazipur. On Saturday this road accident happened around 10:30 pm. 2 people died on the spot. Later one died when taken to Upazila Health Complex in Kaliakore, another died when taken to Sheikh Fazilatunnecha Mujib Medical (KPJ) Hospital and another died when taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. 

The deceased are Nazrul Islam (32), son of Ayub Ali of Sheikh Bari village of Bhuapur police station of Tangail district, he was an autorickshaw driver by profession. The other deceased are Mehedi Hasan Bablu (45), son of Momin Uddin Sikdar of Angarpara village of Barguna Sadar police station of Barguna district, he was working in a local factory. 

Atiqul Islam (42) son of deceased Azim Uddin of Hijltali village of Kaliakoire police station of Gazipur district, Saidul Islam Rubel (27) son of Babul Mia of Latifpur village of the same upazila and Shahin Uddin (28) son of Ataur Rahman of Dahar village of Magura police station of 

Jessore district.

According to local residents and police sources, the history transport from Kaliakore arrived in front of the academic building of Makishbathan Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University in Latifpur area of the upazila. On the other hand, when the transport from Chandra to Kaliakore reached the spot, two buses together with the prohibited auto-rickshaw passengers from Kharajora of the upazila arrived. On reaching the spot on its way towards Latifpur, the auto-rickshaw of Kaliakor Paribahan was pushed. This resulted in a head-on collision between the autorickshaw and the historical transport. The autorickshaw toppled on the spot with a loud noise. The highway was soaked in blood. The autorickshaw driver and another passenger died immediately in the incident. 

Later, local residents took some people to Kaliakore Upazila Health Complex, Sheikh Fazilatunnecha Mujib Medical College (KPJ) Hospital and Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors on duty declared 3 dead. The death toll rose to 5. In this incident, the killer history transport bus has been impounded. However, the messenger escaped from the spot in the Kaliakore transport. The driver and the helper fled before the locals and the police reached the spot. No one was arrested in this regard.

Sub-Inspector (SI) of Kaliakor police station Rahat Akand said, we immediately went to the spot after receiving the information about the accident. The killer history transport bus vehicle has been impounded. 

At that time, the Kaliakor Paribahan Envoy ran away from the spot. Two bodies were recovered from the spot and two more bodies were brought to the police station from Kaliakair Upazila Health Complex, Sheikh Fazilatunnecha Mujib Medical College (KPJ) Hospital. 

When the body of the other victim was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, the doctor on duty declared him dead as well. His family confirmed the death. A total of 5 people were killed. 

All the bodies were handed over to their relatives.
