In coordination with the district administration non-governmental development organization Bureau Bangladesh is distributing food items among 500 jobless poor families in Faridpur Sadar upazila.
Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Atul Sarkar inaugurated the distribution of food items at Mahim School in Faridpur on Thursday morning.
Councilor Chowdhury Anisur Rahman Sabul of ward no 2 under Faridpur Municipality, FDA Executive Director Md. Azaharul Islam, BFF Executive Director ANM Fazlul Hadi Sabbir and Bureau Bangladesh's Regional Manager Alamgir Kabir were present at the time.
Maintaining social distance, 126 unemployed families were given 10 kg of rice, 5 kg of potatoes, 2 kg of pulses, 1 litre of oil, 1 kg of salt, 3 soaps, 250 grams of bleaching powder and 2 masks as relief on Thursday.
Alamgir Kabir, regional manager of Buro Bangladesh, said, "We have now distributed food items to 126 families. The rest of the food items will be provided among poor families in different areas of the district”.
