BUET student Sunny case: Probe report on Feb 6

A Dhaka court on Thursday fixed February 6 next to submit the probe report over the death of Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) student Tarikuzzaman Sunny.

The date of the investigation report submission was January 11. But the investigating officer of the case, Qutubpur Naval Police Station SI Zahirul Islam could not submit the report, prompting Dhaka Judicial Magistrate M Saiful Islam to fix new date for submitting the probe report.

Tarikuzzaman Sunny, a student of Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET), went missing while walking with 15 friends at the Mainot Ghat of Dohar Police Station in Dhaka district on the afternoon of July 14 last year. Even after a long search that night, he was not found. The body of the student was recovered from Mainot Ghatt the following day. 

On July 15, Sunny’s elder brother Hasaduzzaman filed a murder case against 15 friends who were with Sunny.

The 15 accused in the case are- Shariful Hossain (31), Shakil Ahmed (30), Sezan Ahmed (30), Mohammad Rubel (37), Md Sajib (33), Mohammad Nuruzzaman (38), Md Nasir (37), Md Maruf (32), Md Ashraful Alam (28), Md Jahangir Hossain Ripon (46), Mohammad Noman (32), Mohammad Jahid (32), ATM Shahriar Momin (30), Md Maruful Haque (34) and Rokonuzzaman Jitu (28). All are the friends of Sunny.
