BTRC chairman visits Mawa area

BTRC Chairman Shyam Sundar Sikder visited the bridge and adjoining areas on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony of Padma Bridge on June 25, 2022 to verify the quality of the network and the steps taken by the mobile operators to ensure quality mobile network. He also visited a permanent site set up by Grameenphone, Robi and Banglalink at Service Area-1 near Mawa end and a temporary site set up by Grameenphone and Teletalk at Mawa end with Cell On Wheel (COW).

The inspection team then verified the quality of the network over the bridge and on the Jazira side on Friday. At this time, the operators informed the BTRC chairman about the steps they have taken.  Operators have added various modern technologies, maximum wavelengths, 2 high capacity antennas, 08 4th cell etc. and increased capacity and transmission capability of 2G, 3G and 4G technology to ensure quality network for all who came to the opening ceremony on both Mawa and Jazira.

 Mobile operators have increased the transmission capacity of their sites to ensure quality telecommunication services for highway users in the area adjacent to the Padma Bridge and adjoining areas as well as the Babubazar-Bhanga Highway. The transmission bandwidth of 50 sites of Grameenphone has been increased in the area adjacent to Babubazar-Bhanga Highway.

Teletalk has also received unlimited bandwidth for transmission purposes from NTTN operators. A special monitoring team has been formed by all the mobile operators to monitor the overall condition of the network in the Padma Bridge and adjoining areas.

According to Grameenphone, Grameenphone subscribers will be able to enjoy the opening ceremony directly from anywhere, using Grameenphone's Internet-based app 'MyGP App'.
