The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has handed over ten Bangladeshi nationals, including women and children, to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at the Taluigachha border in Satkhira.

The handover took place around 9pm on Wednesday, after which the individuals were brought to Satkhira Police Station by the BGB.

According to sources, the detainees are residents of Satkhira, Khulna, and Gaibandha districts. They had reportedly been detained at the Hakimpur checkpoint in India.

Following a flag meeting between BSF’s Amudia Company Commander Inspector Bikash Kumar and BGB’s Taluigachha BOP Commander Abul Kashem, the individuals were formally returned to Bangladesh.

Officer-in-Charge of Satkhira Sadar Police Station, Shaminul Haque, stated that the identities of the returnees are being verified. Once confirmed, they will be handed over to their respective families.
