BRTA organized refresher training for professional drivers during the renewal of their driving licenses in Chattogram in order to prevent road accidents. 284 professional drivers received training in this.
The training was held at the BRTA divisional office in Notun Para area of Hathazari on Sunday. BRTA organizes mandatory refresher training for professional drivers every week during the renewal of professional driving licenses.
CMP Additional Superintendent of Police Rais Uddin, BRTA Deputy Director (Engineering) Kazi Md. Mahbub Kabir, Chattometro Circle-2 Motor Vehicle Inspector Mehedi Hasan, District Circle Motor Vehicle Inspector Md. Iqbal Ahmed and Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector Md. Abu Nayem were present at the training workshop.
The workshop discussed various important issues including the importance of safe roads, causes and remedies of road accidents, rules of motor vehicle movement, traffic laws, traffic signs, signals, various crimes and punitive measures under the Road Transport Act-2018, various parts of motor vehicles, noise pollution, driving carefully in fog during winter, drivers' hygiene, etiquette, respect for the law and developing a good mentality, good behavior with passengers and the general public, and distributed leaflets and brochures to the trainees.
It is known that refresher training for professional drivers is held every Sunday and Thursday. Each of the drivers participating in the training is given a stipend of three hundred taka and lunch.
