Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) launched a drive against illegal vehicles without route permits through mobile courts in Chattogram on Saturday.
Five vehicles were fined Tk 61,000 in the drive. Besides, three dumper trucks were dumped as fitness, tax token, route permit of the vehicles were not updated for a long time.
Mishkatul Tamanna, Executive Magistrate of BRTA Mobile Court-12 led this operation in Nayabazar Bishwa Road area under Halishahar police station of the city in the morning.
Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury, Motor Vehicle Inspector of BRTA Ctg Metro Circle-2 was also present in the operation.
He said operations are being conducted across the country against illegal and non-updated vehicles following the instructions of the BRTA Chairman. As part of it, a drive was conducted in Halishahar Nayabazar Bishwa Road area on Saturday.
During the drive, the executive magistrate imposed a fine of Tk 61,000 on five vehicles. Moreover, three dumper trucks (Ctg Metro-T-11-9151, Ctg Metro-Sh-11-1487, Ctg Metro-Sh-11-1576) were ordered to be dumped as the documents including fitness, tax token, route permit of the vehicles were not updated for a long time.
Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) and Traffic Police cooperated in this drive.
