British Columbia curriculum now in Bangladesh

New Horizon Canadian International School introduced the British Columbia curriculum in Bangladesh.

Schools under the BC curriculum have consistently been rated as the best due to the robust hands-on curriculum, exceptionally skilled teachers, and top-notch pedagogy blended seamlessly with the evolving technology, said a press release.

The curriculum enhances children’s critical reasoning power, complex thinking, and adapting new skills. Focusing on a student-centred approach to learning, the BC curriculum stands upon a known-do-understand model.

In addition to the general academic subjects, the BC curriculum offers courses in Humanities, Arts, Technology, Physical Education, and Social Emotional Learning. It focuses on building and nurturing communities, and encouraging children to serve people in meaningful ways.

Teachers at NHCS are extensively trained to teach students to think and learn critically and build a positive self-image. Consequently, students become capable of making independent decisions. Comprising of the BC certified principals and teachers on staff, the school focuses on high-quality student-centred learning that meets the diverse needs of all learners, read the release.

‘I believe that all students deserve the very best opportunity available to reach their full potential, and it is important to cater to every individual’s learning needs. Hence, we at New Horizon want to work towards building an open and friendly environment with engaging opportunities that empower our children to learn and grow,’ NHCS principal Crystal Zaugg said.

NHCS is currently pre-certified for the BC curriculum, and it will receive the full certification by the British Columbia ministry of education in December 2023.
