Authority of Roads and Highway on Wednesday reopened the Dhaka bound two-lanes of Salehpur Bridge, after completed its repairing work, on Dhaka-aricha Highway at Aminbazar area in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital. Shamim Al Mamun, Executive Engineer of Roads and Highway, Dhaka division confirmed the matter to The Bangladesh Post.
He said, the Dhaka bound portion of the bridge, where multiple cracks were found 28 days before, reopened around 2:00 pm on Wednesday, after completing its repairing works. Adding that, it’s now compatible with all kinds of vehicle movement.
Earlier, RHD authority found multiple cracks on its girder on last January 13, and closed all kinds of vehicle movement on that portion, announcing it’s as risky. Later, RHD authority started its repairing works on January 15, and it was closed till Wednesday.
