The affected landowners have held a press conference against Md. Siddiqur Rahman, the owner of ABL Bricks Automatic, for forcibly occupying land in Faridpur.
The press conference was held on Tuesday in the city's CNDB Ghat area. In a written statement at the press conference. Lutfar Rahman Khan said he has 29 per cent land in Taltala Beribad area of Ambikapur union in Faridpur Sadar upazila.
Siddiqur Rahman offered to buy the land. However, the proposal was rejected by the land owner Lutfar Rahman Khan. Since then, Siddiqur Rahman forcibly occupied the land and built various temporary structures.
In a written statement, Lutfar further said that on February 9, Siddiqur Rahman dumped soil on their land and gradually started building other temporary structures there. When we went to protest, oppression, torture, abuse of muscle power came down on us by his people.
Also present at the press conference were Mohammad Salam Sheikh, Mosharraf Hossain, Moslem Bepari and Jamal Khan.
