Sarker Shariful Islam, Regional Correspondent and Copy Editor of Bangladesh Post, former Principal of Premtali Degree College, Rajshahi, has been awarded the Mahatma Gandhi International Peace Award-2023 for his special contribution to the field of education.
He bagged the award at a function organised by India Bangladesh Cultural Council held at Rathindra Mancho, Jorasanko Thakurbari in Kolkata of West Bengal, India on June-9, 2023.
The function was attended, among others by the Ministers for the State of West Bengal, MPs. MLA, local media personalities and elites from both countries. The function was followed by a discussion meeting and a cultural soiree.
