A 14-year-old boy named Pabitra Chandra Barman died of electrocution while trying to save his mother. The incident took place at Dharmapur Dangapara village in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Pavitra Chandra Barman, a 7th class student of Ruhia High School and son of Basudev Chandra Barman of Madhupur (Master Para) village in Thakurgaon Sadar upazila.
According to family sources, Minarani Roy, wife of Basudev Chandra Barman of Madhupur village, along with her son Pabitra Chandra Barman went to visit her father Swadhin Master's house in Dharmapura Dangapara village on Saturday.
While staying at the house, the ceiling fan falls from the top to the bottom. In this situation, Pabitra and his mother left that room.
Later, when his mother tried to move the fan, she was struck by the open electric cable.
