Under his direction, the comedy-drama 'The School for Wives,' titled 'Bouder Pathshala' in Bengali, is all set to charm audiences at the Parikshan Theater Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on February 8, starting at 7:30 pm.
The play, originally a classic comedy written by the famous French dramatist Molière, has been skillfully translated into Bengali by Ashish Khandkar from the English translation by Miles Malson.
Ashish Khandkar shared insights into the storyline of 'Bouder Pathshala,' stating that the play unfolds at the crossroads of bustling Paris and Arnolfie's house. The narrative revolves around the return of a rich old man, Arnolfie, who discovers that Agnis, whom he has been determined to marry since childhood, has changed her pseudonym to 'La Suchie.'
The plot takes an intriguing turn when Arnolfie's old friend Orento's son, Horace, arrives in Paris and unknowingly engages in a love affair with Agnis, who is disguised as 'La Suchie.'
As the story progresses, Arnolfie, played by Mohammad Amin, intervenes, revealing his identity and creating a humorous dynamic.
The play delves into themes of love, loyalty, and the complexities of relationships. Notable actors such as Toto Timthiya, Tanveer Nahid, Parvez Rana, Mehdi, Palash Imtiaz, Manisa Archie, and Sangeet Barai contribute to the vibrant cast.
