Keeping in view the theme 'Sheikh Hasina's Bangladesh Hunger Will Vanish', the internal Boro Paddy and Rice Collection Drive, 2020-21 has been officially inaugurated at the Satkhira Sadar Food Warehouse in compliance with the health rules.
Mir Mostaq Ahmed Robi, Member of Parliament from Satkhira-2 constituency, officially inaugurated the Internal Boro Paddy and Rice Collection Drive 2020-21 by cutting the ribbon as the chief guest at Satkhira Sadar Food Warehouse premises on Tuesday morning.
Satkhira Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Debashish Chowdhury presided over the programme held on the occasion while District Food Controller Sheikh Mohammad Jahedul Islam spoke at the opening ceremony as a special guest.
Sadar Upazila Food Controller Md Zakir Hossain, Sadar Upazila Food Warehouse In-Charge ASM Manzurul Alam, District Rice Mill Owners Association President Alhaj Md. Abdus Sabur, General Secretary Abdul Ghaffar and others were present at the time.
Note that this year the internal boro rice collection target in Satkhira district has been set at 14,039 Metric Tonnes (MT) with a target of 6,551 MT in Satkhira Sadar upazila. Meanwhile, an internal boro paddy procurement target of 3,343 MT has been set for the Sadar upazila and 10,902 MT for the district.
