Bangladesh national football team, who reached in Thimphu on Friday, worked on to adjust with the condition when they had a new experience through hiking at Buddha Point on Saturday morning and had a gym session on Sunday morning.
The national team, who will play two FIFA friendly matches against Bhutan, scheduled for September 5 and 8, did their first outdoor practices on Sunday.
Hassan Al Mamun, the deputy of the head coach Javier Cabrera told they were working on to accustomed to the condition as the day after reaching in Thimphu, players had a unique experience through hiking on Saturday and yesterday (Sunday) did gym-work. “Our first object was to adjust with the conditions, therefore we went for hiking on Saturday.
Today (Sunday), we worked on strength and will have a team meeting to discuss on opponents playing strategy, technique and to specify their weak and strong area. Today we have also an outdoor practice session to adapt with the Astroturf and it will continue before the match day,” said Hassan Al Mamun, former national captain. “In all respects, we are progressing on right direction, boys are keeping well, they are motivated to do a good result.”
Defender Tapu Barman, through a video message to BFF, said, You know, we played last two matches in SAFF and defeated them by 3-1, as I remember, in 2016 we lost to Bhutan, so they very strong at their home ground and few days back they defeated Hong Kong at their home ground. We are very much aware of, they are too tough opponents at their home. They have some good player like Chenco, we know about him and we will work all about their strong sides and weak sides.”
“You know Bhutan is 3280 metres high from sea level, it is something tough for the outsiders to adjust with the condition and we also went for hiking to adapt the with the atmosphere.” “We came here with a big challenge and we will have to overcome that any cost. We getting ready with positive way for the matches. We know how important are the two matches,” said Tapu, on eof the most experienced booter of the national side. Rakib Hossain, one of the forwards, said, “We know Bhutan is very strong side, we have worked with them. We want to bring a good result from Bhutan.”
“If we will win the matches we will be able to improve our ranking. It would also be a good preparation for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup,”
