Books exchange festival held in Ctg

Fieled Camera Stories on Friday organised a book exchange festival ror the fourth time at Shah Waliullah Institute premises in Jamal khan of Chattogram city. 

The exchange festival is organised universally to increase the tendency of reading books among the students and giving priority to the students who are unable to collect books due to financial problems despite their interest.

Said Khan Sagar, Director of Field Camera Stories and Book exchange festival coordinator, said that this event is basically to make readers more attentive to books nowadays.  When one gets his unread book for free through exchange, he is able to continue his knowledge. 

The concept of book exchange is not new.  This arrangement is a formal version of the way we used to exchange the books of the three detective series with our friends during our school days.  Moreover, in the current economic reality, there can be no better gift for book lovers.

Hasnat Kadir, who came to the festival, said that I can get other books in exchange for the books I have read.  It is a good initiative.  His brother Faihan said, such an initiative with books is really commendable.  It is great to have such an opportunity to exchange old books.

Chattogram Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer (Deputy Secretary) Shabbir Iqbal said that cultural organizations should work together to spread the idea of book exchange festival more.  

He wishes to keep himself involved in such work in the future as well.

Syed Khan Sagar, Coordinator of the book exchange festival, presided over the event.  At this time, Rinvi Nusrat Atiba, Javed Mahmud, Hasib Ahmed, Ritvik Barua, Triyama Roy and others were also present.

In the afternoon, Ekushey medallist and Independent Bangladesh's first Dainik Azadi Editor MA Malek came to the venue for book exchange. 

He said, such festivals, where anyone is exchanging books for free, is a great opportunity for our readers.  The organizers put a sign that we are not behind in knowledge, that our youth can think creatively.  It is important to have more such arrangements.

About 14,000 books were exchanged during the day-long book exchange festival at a total of eleven stalls, including Fiction, Essays and Others, Theology and Philosophy, Poetry, Career and Science, Safar, Zafar Iqbal and Humayun Ahmed, Shishutosh and Magazines, Academic, Autobiography, History and Politics.
