A book ‘Rohingya Problem and Bangladesh’ on Rohingya crisis written by Professor Khondokar Lutful Elahi of history department of Jahangirnagar University was unveiled on Sunday.
The cover-unveiling ceremony took place at A R Mollick Lecture Hall of the university’s history department around 11 p.m.
Dean of Arts and Humanities faculty Professor Mozammel Haque was the chief guest while Prof. M Nurul Islam of history department, Prof. Emran Jahan of history department were present at the programme among others. Prof. Md Mozahidul Islam, chairman of history department presided over the programme.
In the book, Prof. Elahi brings up international problems with the Rohingya and its impact in Bangladesh.
The five-chaptered book tells the story of the origin of the Rohingya people, the situation of the Rohingyas in the colonial period, the situation of the Rohingyas in the post-independence period, Bangladesh-Myanmar bilateral relations and the impact of Rohingya problem in Bangladesh.
