Police recovered the body of a madrassa student in Pabna on Saturday, four days after he went missing.
The deceased was identified as Belal Hossain, son of Afzal Hossain of Ataikula thana in Pabna. He was a student of Sreekol Furkania Madrassa.
Police, however, arrested a man in this connection. The arrestee is Mukul Hosain, son of Abdul Hai of Ataikula upazila in the district.
Pabna DB sub-inspector Asit Kumar Bosak said that Belal Hossain went missing on February 9 after he took his father's van from home. Locals of Pabna Sadar Upazila on Saturday found the body floating in a canal adjacent to Bharara Mosque.
On information, police recovered the body and the van from the place. The body was sent to the Pabna General Hospital morgue for post mortem, he added.
