Chittagong Metropolitan BNP has organized a tree plantation program in the city on the occasion of the 47th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).
The program was held on Thursday at the premises of the Kazirdewri Zia Memorial Museum in the city. Saplings of fruit, forest and medicinal trees were planted to protect the environment.
The program was led by Metropolitan BNP Convener Ershad Ullah and Member Secretary Nazimur Rahman.
Former Metropolitan BNP General Secretary Abul Hashem Bakkar, Convener Committee Joint Conveners Kazi Belal Uddin, Harun Zaman, Yasin Chowdhury Liton, Ahmedul Alam Chowdhury Rasel, Shihab Uddin Mobin were present at the time. The members of the convening committee include Kamrul Islam, Syed Shihab Uddin Alam, Mashiur Alam Swapan, Zafar Ahmed, Mohammad Abu Musa, Mohammad Azam, Mohammad Yusuf and former leaders of metropolitan BNP, activists of various police stations and wards of BNP.
The speakers said that BNP is not just a political party, it is the name of a people's movement. The party is also playing an important role in the overall development of the country, establishing democracy and protecting the environment. Tree plantation is very important to deal with the current climate crisis. BNP is carrying out this program to raise public awareness out of that responsibility.
They said that martyred President Ziaur Rahman was in favor of nature and environment-friendly development. Following his ideals, BNP is working towards building a green, clean and sustainable Bangladesh.
