BNP main protector of the anti- liberation forces: Dr Hasan

Published : 25 Mar 2022 09:00 PM

Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said that even after fifty years of Bangladesh's independence, the anti-independence forces are still bragging. This anti-liberation forces are still active, they are not happy with the development progress of the country. The BNP is the main protector of the anti-liberation forces. We have to protect the country from this evil power. They have spread confusion in the country from time to time, confusion during Covid-19 pandemic, confusion during construction of Padma Bridge, now they have started making fun of the people of the country.

He said the Covid-19 pandemic and Russia-Ukraine wars have pushed up commodity prices around the world. In our country also the prices of some import dependent products have gone up. But that is less than other countries. The Prime Minister has given family cards to one crore families so that the low-income people do not suffer. So that they can buy TCB products at low prices. This has brought relief to the people. But the uneasiness of the BNP and some intellectuals has increased to bring relief to the people.

The minister was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion organized by Chattogram North District Awami League on the occasion of Independence Day on Friday.

At the LGED Auditorium in Sholashahar of Chittagong city, the discussion was chaired by Uttar Zila Awami League President District Council Chairman MA Salam and joint secretary Debashish Palit. Ataur Rahman, Vice-President Prof. Moin Uddin, Abul Kalam Azad, ATM Peyarul Islam, Abul Kashem Chishti, Member Iftekhar Hossain Babul, Bedarul Alam Chowdhury Bedar, Md Selim, North District Women's Awami League president Dilwara Yusuf, Krishka League general secretary Shafiqul Islam, Chhatra League president Tanvir Hossain Tapu and others.

Dr Hassan Mahmud said, "The genocide started on the night of March 25. We have demanded for its international recognition. We are continuing our efforts." Its international recognition is logical. But when the leader of a party that has once again served as prime minister says that three million people have not actually died, the question of international recognition of the genocide arises. Such statements by the BNP and Khaleda Zia and the BNP's efforts to protect war criminals are obstacles to international recognition of the genocide. Or we would have easily recognized the genocide. The Minister for Information and Broadcasting said that the leader who awakened the sleeping Bengalis of thousands of years and stirred up our patriotism in the path of independence movement, taught the slogan, he is Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the best Bengali nation of all time.

He said that during the war of independence the Pakistanis followed the policy of burning everything which had mixed Bangladesh with the soil and burnt village after village. Bangabandhu was assassinated while he was leading the country towards prosperity by rebuilding it from rubble. If Bangabandhu had not been assassinated, then if the economic growth had been achieved at the rate that Bangabandhu was able to achieve more than 9 and a half percent, then Bangladesh would have been a developed country within 15/20 years of independence.
