A Dhaka Court granted bail to BNP Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury on Thursday in four separate cases filed with Ramna and Paltan model police stations.

According to the court sources, Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain's court granted him bail against a Tk10,000 bond until the police file their reports in the cases, after a hearing.

Advocate Jainul Abedin Mesbah, a lawyer for the accused said, “Amir Khasru got bail in four out of eight cases with two separate police stations.” However, hearings were not held in four other cases due to lack of documents, said court sources.

I hope the bail hearings in those cases will be held when the case documents arrive in the relevant court,” said Advocate Jainul Abedin.

Earlier on November 2,Detectives Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police   detained the former minister  from his home in Gulshan in the capital

Dhaka. The next day, a Dhaka court granted the police six days to question him in custody.

He was sent to jail after the remand period on November 9 and has been there since then.
