To promote the 31-point program announced by BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Nurul Islam, Vice-President of Naogaon's Niamatpur Upazila BNP, has been holding courtyard meetings in villages from evening until 11 pm.
On Saturday, around 9 pm, such a courtyard meeting was held in front of a temple in Ramkura village of the upazila, with the participation of indigenous men and women. At that time, Niamatpur Upazila BNP member Shamsuddin, Roni, and Rocky, along with hundreds of leaders and activists, were present.
In the meeting, Nurul Islam, Vice-President of Niamatpur Upazila BNP, said, "BNP is not a party of opportunists, BNP is not a party with the character of BAKSALl, BNP is not a party that weighs scales and sells religion, BNP is not a party that sells the spirit of liberation; BNP is the party that builds the country, the party of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. The way you have been by BNP's side for the last 16 years, BNP will not forget your contributions. For the last 16 years, you have endured persecution and sacrifices, you couldn't go to see your mother, you couldn't take your own child to the exam center. Therefore, in the days to come, there will be the victory of the 'Paddy Sheaf' (BNP's symbol), BNP's victory, with you."
Regarding the upcoming election, he said, "There will be an election in this country, but you must remain aware of those who are trying to create confusion about the election. BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has said the next election will be the most important election. So, all of you must remain cautious."
"BNP has not given nomination to anyone yet. Yet, some are roaming around with tickets under their pillows, and some are roaming around with tickets under their arms. But you should not be misled." He further said, "BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has said that those who were on the streets, those who have faced cases and attacks, those who have a good reputation in their area, and have contact with grassroots leaders and activists, BNP will give them the nomination. So, I hope the party will nominate the candidate of your choice."
He distributed leaflets of the 31-point program formulated by BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman to the local people present and explained the significance of these points. At the courtyard meeting, the locals welcomed this program of BNP and expressed their resolve to remain united in the future.
