Bldgs with modern facilities constructed in Meherpur for edn institutions

Meherpur is a small district on the southwest border of Bangladesh. Even after many years of independence there had been no development. Many people said, the present government came to power with the light of hope. The overall development of the district began around Mujibnagar under the leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. 

And in the last 11 years of efforts, this district has now become a role model for the development of Bangladesh. The district is currently at a high level of development through the implementation of various developmental activities including the construction of new roads, educational institutions, digging of rivers and setting up offices of various ministries at the initiative minister Professor Farhad Hossain. 

Most of the grand plans that were made for Mujibnagar, which is full of memories of the Liberation War, are now on the way to implementation. There has been a radical change in the education, health and communication system. What no one had thought before, the Minister of Government Information Professor Farhad Hossain has shown. Besides, world-class tourist center, beautiful Lake, a mini park, Liberation War Museum, Cineplex and many more have been built in the development of Mujibnagar. 'Freedom Road' has been inaugurated to commemorate the road used by prominent people during the Liberation War. 

Mujibnagar University, Mujibnagar Sohiuddin Textile Institute, Mujibnagar TSC Center were launched. In addition to 100% electricity service in the district, there is a 150 MW power plant. Various developmental projects have been implemented including the inauguration of Meherpur Technical Training Center (TTC) building and Pravasi Kalyan Bank, Sheikh Kamal IT Incubation and Training Center, construction of Youth Development Center, Rest House building.

In this way, the overall development is changing day by day in the infrastructure development of this district full of history and tradition.

Especially in the educational environment of the district, drastic changes have come. In the education sector of Meherpur, the three upazilas of Gangni, along with Sadar, Mujibnagar, have now reached their own position in the development of the last 6 years. Beautiful buildings of government and non government schools, colleges and madrasas have been built in the district in the beauty of creation. 162 educational institutions have been built one by one.

The 4 storied and multi-storied buildings of government and non government schools and colleges here will catch everyone's attention. Dakhil, Kamil and Karigari educational institutions of the district are not left out in this list.

According to Meherpur Education and Engineering Department, 272 crores, 91 lakhs and 70 thousand Taka have been allocated in the district in the past 6 years for various projects for the development of the education sector in the district. 220 crores, 24 lakhs and 96 thousand taka works have been completed out of the allocated amount. 26 crore 22 lakh 53 thousand taka has been allocated for the 18 selected non government colleges of the district through the project entitled Development of 18 selected non government colleges of the district (work on the road) with the aim of adapting the current information technology based education. 

Where the work of Tk. 25 crore 94 lakh 37 thousand has already been completed. With the aim of adapting education with the help of information technology, the work of allocation of Tk 48 lakh 30 thousand has been completed for the 11 selected non government colleges of the district.

23 selected school buildings have been constructed in the district under the project titled upward Expansion of Non government Secondary Schools. Where 219 crore 7 lakh 65 thousand taka has been allocated. Furniture for 23 selected schools in the district has been manufactured and distributed under the project titled Upward Expansion of Non government Secondary Schools. Where 25 crore 5 lakh 75 thousand taka has been allocated.

The development work of selected 12 madrasas has been completed under the project entitled Development of 12 selected madrasas. Where 19 crore 74 lakh 98 thousand taka has been allocated.

A Technical School and College has been established in the district at a cost of Tk 15 crore 82 lakh 50 thousand under the establishment of 64 Technical Schools and Colleges (TSC) (First Revised) project under the Directorate of Technical.

Work has been done in government colleges in Meherpur with an allocation of Tk 15 crore 11 lakhs under the prop entitled Expansion of science education opportunities in government colleges (200 government colleges).

Buildings have been constructed at a cost of 1 crore 82 lakh 77 thousand taka under the project entitled Development of selected government secondary schools (323 government schools).

Under the revenue sector, the construction of new buildings (Maushi) of government/non government educational institutions is ongoing with the allocation of 36 crore 51 lakh six thousand taka. So far, the building work of 42 schools has been completed.

Construction of new buildings of 11 government and non government educational institutions of the district has been completed with an allocation of 11 crore 57 lakh 33 thousand  taka  under the revenue sector.

Under the revenue sector, a new building of a school has been constructed under the project titled Government Non government Educational Institutions (Government Kamashi) at a cost of Tk 44 lakh 97 thousand.

Apart from this, under the revenue sector, repair and renovation work has been done in 7 government institutions with an allocation of Tk 1 crore and 47 lakh.

Under the revenue sector, 96 non government schools have been renovated and repaired at a cost of Tk8.47 million .

Under the revenue sector, 15 non government secondary schools have been repaired and renovated at a cost of Tk 1 crore 56 lakh 73 thousand taka. Under the initiative of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, development work was completed in 90 educational institutions of the district at a cost of Tk 9 crore 51 lakh 85 thousand taka.

Under the revenue sector, 15 non government secondary schools have been repaired and renovated at a cost of Tk 1 crore 56 lakh 73 thousand. Under the initiative of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, development work has been completed in 90 educational institutions of the district at a cost of Tk 9 crore 51 lakh 85 thousand. Under the initiative of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, furniture has been manufactured and distributed among 61 government and non government educational institutions at a cost of 2 crore 61 lakh 17 thousand taka.

Furniture has been provided for Meherpur Government Technical School and College at a cost of 7 lakh 8 thousand taka. Apart from this, furniture has been provided to 3 non government technical educational institutes at a cost of Tk 24 lakh 42 thousand. The education program of Mehepur is progressing greatly in the field of education as a result of various developments including the construction of attractive buildings, renovation and provision of furniture in the educational institutions of the district. Some other projects including three one crore 64 lakh 80 thousand Taka work under the scope of the project titled Development of selected government secondary schools (323 government schools) are underway.

Meherpur Directorate of Education and Engineering Executive Engineer Md. Rakibul Ahsan said, we are trying to understand the development works of our department with transparency. I request the cooperation of all conscious citizens in this. Many projects have been completed, some projects are ongoing, and some projects are coming up.

He also said that the development work of selected 20 schools of the district has been completed at a cost of Tk 54 crore 68 lakh 29 thousand under the project (completion) titled Development of non government secondary schools (3000 schools).

Development of selected 20 non government secondary schools (3000 schools) under the sheet project, the development work of selected 20 non government secondary schools of the district has been completed at a cost of Tk 3 crore 64 lakh 94 thousand. Honorable Public Administration Minister, Farhad Hossain, spoke about some other educational projects, Meherpur Polytechnic College, Mujibnagar University, TSC, these projects are being prepared. If these are implemented, Meherpur will reach a better position in the country in terms of infrastructure in the field of education.
