A thousand blankets were distributed among poor, cold hit, destitute in Joypurhat under the social development agenda in order to create a prosperous society on Tuesday. Expert Asian Development Foundation funded the distribution programme held at Bhadsa High School premises in Joypurhat sadar upazila.
Expert Asian Development Foundation Chairman Nurul Huda Rimon said, “Joypurhat is experiencing the severe most cold in its history this winter. Thousands of helpless people are suffering terribly from the cold. We are simply trying to help the cold-hit poor people to fight the biting cold by providing them some winter clothes.” Prominent social activist Haider Ali Mondal and headmaster of Bhadsa High School Uttam Kumar Chowdhury were present among others at the time.
