Sreemangal experiences lowest temperature

In the last two days the lowest temperature in the country was recorded in Moulvibazar’s Sreemangal. Therefore, the weather of Sreemangal, known as the tea capital of Bangladesh, has been bitter cold for the past few days.

On Sunday (January 24), country's lowest temperature was recorded in Sreemangal at 9.7 degrees Celsius.

Meteorological Assistant at Bangladesh Meteorological Department Md. Farman Ali has confirmed this information. He added that even on Saturday the lowest temperature in the country was recoded in Sreemangal at 9.0 degrees Celsius.

Due to dense fog everywhere from dawn to dusk nothing can be seen around. Long-distance vehicles were seen moving on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway with headlights on. As the day progresses, the fog clears up and gentle sunlight appears. However, it goes without saying that there is no heat of the sun.

Officer-In-Charge of Meteorological Department’s Sreemangal office Mujibur Rahman said that the cold spell would continue for the next few days in Moulvibazar including Sreemangal. Severe cold might be felt from evening till next morning, he added.
