Bir Muktijoddha Nuruzzaman Sarkar of Kurigram’s Ulipur has passed away. He died at Rangpur Doctors Clinic on Saturday night while undergoing treatment for dengue. He was 75.
He leaves behind his wife, two sons, a daughter, and many admirers. He was the convenor of the Dharanibari Union BNP and father of Kurigram District Chhatra Dal General Secretary Hasan Zobayer Himel.
His funeral prayer was held at 2:30 PM on Sunday at his home in Madhupur, Dharanibari Union, followed by burial with full state honours. A guard of honour was presented before the Janazah.
Present were UNO Nayon Kumar Saha, Officer-in-Charge Zillur Rahman, and fellow freedom fighters. Political leaders from BNP and Chhatra Dal expressed deep sorrow and condolences to the bereaved family.
