Biotech Fest held at JU

A daylong ‘Biotech Fest-2020’ was held on Saturday at Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus.

The Biotech Club of Jahangirnagar University organised the fest at Jahir Raihan auditorium of the university, according to a press release of JU Public Relations Office.

JU Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Md Nurul Alam inaugurated the function as chief guest in the morning.

Dean of JU Biological Science faculty, Professor Dr Abdul Jabber Hawladar, Director General of Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI) Dr Nathu Ram Sarkar, Chief Scientific Officer of National Institute of Biotechnology Dr Jahangir Alam, convener of Biotech Fest Professor Dr Abdullah Mohammad

Shohael, Chairman of JU Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering department Dr Sharif Hossain and President of JU Biotech Club Md Musrafijur Rahman spoke in the inaugural session, among others, said the press release.

The daylong fest featured a quiz competition, three-minute thesis presentation, research poster presentation, idea poster presentation and scientific project display.

Over 600 teachers and students of Biotechnology department from different universities across the country participated at the fest, the release added.
