Biman, Police share top spot

Bangladesh Biman and Bangladesh Police secured eleven points each to share the top spot in the Bangabandhu Premier Division Chess League 2023–24 after the sixth round matches.

Held at the Bangladesh Chess Federation Hall-Room on Wednesday, Titas Club and Leonine Chess Club are jointly in the second position after obtaining eight points each after playing their respective six and seven matches.

In the day's second round match, Bangladesh Police defeated Janata Bank Officers Welfare Society by 3-1 game points. In the other matches of the second round, GM Puranik Abhimanyu, GM Ter-Sahakyan Samvel, and GM Ziaur Rahman of Bangladesh Police won against FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman, Sk. Rashedul Hasan, and Abdullah Al Raison of Janata Bank Officers Welfare Society, respectively.

 while M.M. Zahirul Islam of Janata Bank won against FM Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Bangladesh Police.

Bangladesh Biman won against Manha’s Castle by 2.5–1.5 game points.

GM V Pranav and GM Niaz Murshed of Bangladesh Biman won against CM Sohel Chowdhury and CM Md Sajidul Haque of Manha’s Castle, respectively. IM Kushagra Mohan of Manha’s Castle won against IM Abu Sufian Shakil of Bangladesh Biman. Suvradeepta Das of Manha’s Castle drew with GM Srinath Narayanan of Bangladesh Biman.

In the day's other matches, Leonine Chess Club drew with Sheikh Russell Chess Club by 2-2 game points. Titas Club beat Rupali Bank Krira Parishad by 3-1 game points, while Bangladesh Navy beat Uttara Central Chess Club by 3.5-0.5 game points.
