It is encouraging to note that the authorities concerned of India and Bangladesh are working to re-establish a new railway connection from Belonia in the southern district of Tripura through Feni in Bangladesh.

Experts opine that, the Feni-Belonia rail line will increase connectivity between Tripura and Chattogram Port via Feni. Besides construction of the rail line, quality infrastructure on both sides of the port will help to increase businesses manifold.

Government should now make sure that the process of constructing the rail line progresses rapidly so that both countries can enjoy the benefits of this new trade connection.

New Delhi should do more to develop

the bond even stronger between the

two friendly nations

The constant development of rail connectivity will enhance rail network access to the main ports and dry ports, which will support the growth in regional trade and will encourage economic and social development of this region.

Common people and businessmen of both countries will reap the benefit from this project once the project is operationalised on this route. Now the government should look to increase more export sources with India as currently, our export rate with the neighbour country is not that much. If we can increase export with India through this route our balance of trade will be surplus.

Not only our government but India should also put effort to increase imports from Bangladesh. New Delhi should do more to develop the bond even stronger between the two friendly nations.
