BIDA’s one stop service portal, investment aftercare workshop held

Partners exchanged views on services and investment aftercare provided by BIDA's One Stop Service Portal at the initiative of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and in collaboration with The Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).

The workshop was held at the Bangabandhu Conference Hall at the World Trade Center on Thursday morning.  Additional Divisional Commissioner, Chattogram Dr. Prakash Kanti Chowdhury presided over the function. Chief guest BIDA Executive Member Mohsina Yasmin, Chattogram Chamber President Mahbubul Alam and BIDA Executive Member Abhijit Chowdhury addressed the workshop.  Chamber Director KM Akter Hossain, Md. Ahid Siraj Chowdhury (Swapan), Anjan Shekhar Das, Mohammad Adnanul Islam, Mohammad Nasirul Alam (Fahim), Paktan Directors Mahfuzul Haque Shah, Kamal Mostafa Chowdhury and Afsar Hasan Chowdhury (Jasim), Power Development Board Chief Engineer Md.  Rezaul Karim, Chattogram Development Authority Secretary Muhammad Anwar Pasha, Chattogram Customs House Additional Commissioner Dr Abu Noor Rashed Ahmed were present.

BIDA Executive Director Mohsina Yasmin said that BIDA has been working tirelessly to provide investors with a wide range of online services.  We have integrated 19 service providers including BIDA, 58 services into the online one-stop service portal.  However, investors need to be more interested and aware of the services offered, not just online services.  Investors do not need to be in different departments to receive services, they can easily receive services online from home.

He said that BIDA has informed all concerned about the online portal launched for the convenience of investors and in order to keep this activity running successfully, investors need to avail services from this portal.

Chamber President Mahbubul Alam said that BIDA has been working to bring all kinds of services under one window for entrepreneurs, taking into consideration the views of stakeholders in order to increase investment, today BIDA has successfully launched an online one-stop service portal.  A memorandum of understanding has already been signed between the two organizations to join the platform to provide various services to the members of the Chattogram Chamber, and work on system integration is underway.  The Prime Minister will accelerate the economic development of the country by attracting foreign investment and industrialization to create a conducive environment for investors to realize the dream of a developed Bangladesh.  I sincerely thank BIDA for organizing this workshop today.  

The Chattogram Chamber will continue to co-operate fully in any future bidder activities.

BIDA Executive Member Abhijit Chowdhury said that Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) has always given priority to providing necessary assistance to its registered pet companies.  BIDA's Investment After Care Unit is playing an active role in facilitating investment, providing necessary assistance for investment and business, stopping unwanted influences and resolving their problems for investment and business expansion.  Existing and potential investors participating in the workshop are requested to contact the BIDA's Investment After Care Branch to resolve any kind of investment related adversity or problem.  Chattogram Additional Divisional Commissioner Dr. Prakash Kanti Chowdhury said that today's workshop was organized as part of informing various activities of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) for existing and potential investors in Chittagong, the commercial capital of Bangladesh.  The Investment After Care Unit is a commendable initiative as part of the BIDA's One Stop Service Portal and their post-investment support activities for providing various services to investors online.  He urged the participants to contribute to the economic development of the country by availing services from the online one stop service portal launched by BIDA.  Chattogram Divisional Administration will continue to provide all possible assistance to investors.

At the workshop, BIDA Director One Stop Service and Regulatory Reform Jeevan Krishna Saha Roy gave a presentation on the overall activities of Online One Stop Service Portal and Director Investment After Care Sunil Kumar Adhikari (Deputy Secretary) said that  Presents information on ongoing activities of the Care Branch.
