Bhasha Matin remembered on his 7th death anniv

The seventh death anniversary of language movement veteran Abdul Matin, who was popularly known as Bhasha Matin for his pioneering role in the historic language movement, was observed on Friday (October 8).

On the occasion, Bangladesh National Awami Party (Bangladesh NAP) paid rich tributes to the language hero by placing a wreath at his portrait in the capital.   Bangladesh Labour Party and National Democratic Party (NDP) also paid homage to Bahasha Matin through placing wreaths at his portrait.  Later, Bangladesh NAP arranged a discussion at the Jadu Mia Auditorium at Nayapaltan in the city. 

Secretary General of the party M Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan presided over the discussion, while it was addressed, among others, by Chairman of Bangladesh Labour Party Hamdullah Al Mehedi, Secretary General of NDP Md Manjur Hossain Isa, Vice Chairman of Bangladesh NAP Swapan Kumar Saha, the party’s Joint Secretary General Ehsanul Haque Jasim, Organising Secretary Md Kamal Bhuiyan, the party’s leaders Matiyara Chowdhury Minu, Md. Amjad Hossain.
