Border guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized huge quantity of smuggled Indian goods worth TK 41lakh from Natun Hat area of Benapole-Jashore Highway on Tuesday night.
Tipped off, a team of BGB-49 intercepted a Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Shyamoli Paribahan’ at night, said BGB-49 Commanding Officer Lt Col Selim Reza.
The team seized 126 mobile phones, clothes, fake jewelry, cosmetics, medicine and spices worth Tk 40.4 lakh, said BGB-49 Commanding Officer Lt Col Selim Reza.
The seized items were deposited to the customs house. A case was filed in this connection.
